Vanessa Hudgens Invited to Join ‘Girls Gone Wild’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Kids, Cable, The CW, WB, Gossip, Rumors,
Joe Francis, head of the Girls Gone Wild franchise, has reportedly extended a business opportunity Vanessa Hudgens’ way. Francis—who is currently locked up in Nevada for just one of his many legal woes—proved that even behind bars, he likes to help poor girls out. Should Vanessa need some financial help, she could make a nice $500,000 just by joining the GGW family. Well Isn’t that sweet?
Before I go on, let me make a few things clear: #1) I think Vanessa was a complete idiot for snapping a photo that would inevitably be leaked. #2) I would never advise her to be associated with anyone named Joe or Francis. But here’s a thought: Should Hudgens want to avoid being typecast in the Disney mold, would her ‘unfortunate’ situation give her the opportunity to break free?

‘Heroes’ Welcomes Veronica Mars
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, NBC, The CW, Heroes, Lost, Announcements,
Kristen Bell, star of the now-defunct Veronica Mars, has found a new home on NBC’s Heroes. She accepted the role after weighing another offer to be on ABC’s Lost. Is she that
good? Apparently she smartly realized that it was best to join a series that was still on an upswing.
While Bell’s character, Elle, is still a bit of a mystery…we do know that she has ties to Peter, H.R.G and Claire. We also know that she will have a power. Having never been a viewer of her old show, I really know nothing about Bell—aside from her horrible rendition of ‘Fame’ on the 2005 Emmys. Here’s to hoping her presence will not come with an equally loud thud.
Expect to see the addition of Elle this October.

ANTM: Cycle 8: The Girl Who Becomes America’s Next Top Model
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, Features,
Wow - what a busy night for threes. It was down to three on both American Idol and our beloved ANTM last night. Only in this case—there was no controversial beatboxer: just Renee (the old one), Jaslene (the latina drag queen) and Natasha (the Russian phony).
With two eliminations to accomplish in just one hour, the show got off to a quick start. The ladies met up with Jay for their last CoverGirl shoot. The winner of the overall competition would eventually see her print ad in a magazine. Additionally, the girls filmed a ‘My Life As A CoverGirl’ commercial. The caveat? Aside from a few required words, the girls had to completely ad-lib. To help them prepare for this critical shoot, Caridee (Winner, ANTM Cycle 7) came by to give them a few words of advice.

America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 8: The Girl Who Does Not Want To Dance
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, Features,
With Brittany finally gone…am I the only one who wonders if the (ANTM) world could be a quieter place without Renee??
Natasha started off this episode by weirding out her roommates (once again) while talking to her husband. With the cell phone resting on her bed, she for some reason kept rubbing her face—or more precisely, her nose—all over it. If I hadn’t known that she was talking on a phone, I would have thought she was snorting lines. She knew the girls were making comments about her, but simply equated it to jealousy. Yes - they’re jealous because they don’t get snotty phone calls from you as well.

Lauren Graham Sounds off on Gilmore Decision
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Cancellations, Ratings,
Despite the recent news that Gilmore Girls has been cancelled, star Lauren Graham seems somewhat relieved with the decision. With a hit to the ratings and a hectic schedule, Graham is happy to see the show end. “I think it’s the best decision for the show,” Graham said. “One of the things Alexis (Bledel) and I wished could be different was the schedule, and it really can’t be.” Single mom, Lorelai (Graham) and daughter Rory (Bledel) have been drawing viewers for seven seasons, but last year creator Amy Sherman-Palladino jumped ship and the show seemed to lose its momentum for some viewers. Get it while you can. The final Gilmore Girls will air on May 15th. Graham can next be seen opposite Steve Carell in Evan Almighty. I’m sure this is not the last we’ve seen of her.

America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 8: The Girl Who Blames The Taxi Driver
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, Features,
After Jael was sent packing from Down Under, Renee made a shocking confession. She said she would actually miss Jael. Not so shocking? She managed to find a new person to hate: Brittany. Renee (and anyone watching ANTM) was frustrated that the red-head had used her supposed short-term memory issue as a crutch.
The next day the ladies met up with reps from a local modeling agency. It was time for their ‘go-see’ challenge of the season. The models would have to ‘go’ on as many job interviews as possible so that they could be ‘seen’. Those who did not make it back to the agency in the alloted time would automatically be disqualified. Before departing the girls were told that they would be critiqued on three different aspects: their personality, their portfolio and their runway walk.

Gilmore Future Doesn’t Look Good
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Cancellations, News,
Though rumor suggested that the CW, Warner Bros., and the Gilmore Girls would come to terms on a shortened eighth season of the hit show, sources are now saying talks have stopped completely. Insiders say that actresses Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel – the Gilmore Girls themselves – have not signed off on the offers proposed to each of them. Though the monetary amounts proposed were “very good,” neither actress has accepted a final amount. So far, it’s anyone’s guess whether the show will actually return or not…creating lots of speculation around the season (series?) finale scheduled for May 15, 2007.

May’s Big Sendoffs
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, The CW, American Idol, Desperate Housewives, King of Queens, The Bachelor, The CW, Cancellations, Gossip, Renewals,
It’s May, and that can only mean one thing: finales. The official TV season is ending so that summer’s reality programming can begin, but all the hot shows are determined to go out with a bang. Which show will have the most surprising finale of all? Which shows will only be coming back in re-runs? How will they all say good-bye? There’s only one way to find out – but you don’t have to watch them all.
After nine hilarious seasons, The King of Queens cast will say their final good-byes on Monday, May 14 at 9pm ET. The CBS show will get a big send-off to cap off its almost decade-long run, giving fans that chance to laugh at Kevin James and Jerry Stiller one last time. The dramatic hour-long finale will have plenty of tears but lots of laughter, too. Insiders say the show will have a happy ending. The real tragedy behind King of Queens going off the air is that Jerry Stiller will no longer have a sitcom gig – and that man is hysterical.
